Asian Bodyworkinvolves
elements of Shiatsu, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Tui Na, and Thai yoga massage.
What these modalities have in common is the use of energy medicine
principles. The main components are knowledge of meridian
pathways combined with acupressure and other techniques that effectively
move and resolve patterns of pain, tension and imbalance. We can be
very specific or generally tonifying.
Structural Therapy is
a form of physical manipulations that works deeply within the fascia
and its musculoskeletal relationships. The emphasis of the work is on
optimum form, alignment and function. The goal shared between the client
and therapist is to re-align and correct long standing deficiencies of
the person's structure, posture and movement patterns. One sure
indication that this work is for you are the presence of recurring pain,
injuries or uneven gait or wear patterns within the body's mechanics.
The work is carried on over 12 sessions. Wear underwear/bra for full
standing evaluation.
Herbal Consultation consists
of a detailed intake form covering various facets of your health
history and an assessment of your tongue and pulses. Together, we will
discuss your most pressing issues and create a wellness strategy that
includes self-help measures, dietary recommendations, and specific
herbal formulae. These may consist of Chinese patent formulas and teas, Western herbs, liniments, poultices, oils and compresses.
QiGongis both a form of body/mind exercise and meditation technique. The
world of QiGong is vast and includes aspects of the martial arts,
bio-energy (qi- life force) and quiet contemplative strategies. Breathing is explored extensively as a primary tool to effect deep internal shifts in the energy body. Bring with you a willingness to develop a clear and intimate relationship with your own vital energy system.
